                                  Checking: $191.69

Committee Reports:

a.       Altar, Carol Zeile: No report

b.      Banner, Gretchen Harrison:  We talked at previous meetings about making new banners.  The reformation banner needs to be repurposed.  Gretchen is busy now with the Cookie Walk quilt and would not be able to make a new banner for this year.  Pastor will look to see if he can find a Reformation banner to purchase.  Sola banners were discussed as a project for winter.  More banner storage is needed.

c.       Kitchen, Coaline Luplow and Lois Ramsey:  There are $41.92 in the  kitchen fund.  Coaline is taking over for now.

d.      Library, Coaline Luplow: Gretchen asked about donating non-religious books to the library.  Space is a concern.  We would have to add a bookcase.  Sharyn offered to have a bookcase in her classroom for children's books.  In the bulletin insert we will ask if anyone has a bookcase they would be willing to donate.

e.       Sunshine, Marlene Miller: Marlene needs more stamps and birthday cards for men.  Lois asked to be removed from the Prayer Chain for now since she is out of town most of the week.  Marlene will start signing cards from the Ladies' Guild instead of Peace Lutheran Church.

f.        Special Events, Coaline Luplow and Lois Ramsey: No report.

g.      Charitable Donations:  LWR pickup is October 17 and 18.  Will decide how/when to pack and deliver at the next meeting.  Jenny B. is making 10 school bags.

Comments by Pastor:  none

Seminary Student Report:  Justin sent an email.  It will be posted on the bulletin board.

Projects:  Banners were already discussed.

Web Page:  Carol will check the LWR lists on the web page to make sure they are up-to-date.

Old business:

a.       Vacuum cleaner:  We have a new one and Andrea likes it.

b.      Hymnal ribbons:  Gretchen suggested trying to repair some of them by cutting off the frayed edges with sharp scissors.

c.       Cookie walk quilt: All of the blocks are completed.  Gretchen and Dorothy are working on the sashing.

New business:

a.       Pastor Appreciation:  Dinner will take place on Sunday, October 16 after Bible Class and Sunday School.  Coaline will call people to see what they can bring.

b.      Reformation, Oct. 30:  SALT is having a meeting this week and will let Coaline know what they would like the Ladies' Guild to do for the celebration.

c.       Sunday School Christmas Program luncheons before practice:  Practices will be Nov. 13, 20, Dec. 4,11,18.  Marlene volunteered to bring lunch on Nov. 13 and Coaline on Dec. 18.

d.      Bazaar - Dec. 3:  Sneeze guard needs to be redesigned so that it is easier to reach the cookies in the front.  Pastor will contact Chris Brown and they will take care of it.
Need to order boxes.  We will order 4 cartons (100 boxes/carton), one red and one green of each size.
Crafters tables will be same price as last year.

e.       Altar Guild and Guild hostess: Signup lists were passed around.

f.       Celebration Dinners:  Nov. 11, 2012 is the 50th anniversary of the congregation.  A dinner will be planned to celebrate the occasion.

g.       Individual candles for special Services:  Candles often drip on cushions and carpeting.  Sharyn has been working on getting up the wax after these Services.

Thank you to Marlene Miller and Charlotte Dargie for serving as hostesses.

Next meeting is October 3, 2011 at 12:00 p.m.  Hostess will be Sharyn Greening.

Respectfully submitted,

Carol Zeile, Vice President
